Commercial · Retail entry route card
Entry glass, door surround, signage and the threshold slab cleaned in one 15-25 minute visit per tenant. Pure-water-fed pole on the glass, soap-and-rinse at the door, degreaser pass on restaurant thresholds. Multi-tenant strip mall route cards drop the per-storefront price. Most Calgary storefront work runs $150 to $500 per location depending on size and cadence.
Why route cards beat one-offs
Calgary retail conversion is partly visual. A clean storefront pulls walk-up traffic; a dirty one filters it out before customers reach the door. The economic question is not whether to clean — it is whether to clean reactively (when it gets bad enough that the landlord complains) or proactively on a route card. Reactive cleaning means the storefront is dirty 80 percent of the year and clean 20. Route-card monthly cleaning means the storefront looks the way it should look 100 percent of the year. The cost difference is small once the route card is built. Equipment set-up is shared across the whole strip mall on one visit, the crew moves down the line tenant by tenant, and the per-storefront price drops 25-40 percent versus ad-hoc. The result is a consistent customer impression across the whole property. Pair storefront cleaning with commercial window cleaning for the larger glass routes, with awning cleaning for the fabric work or with gum removal for the sidewalk approaches.
How a Calgary storefront visit runs
Truck parked clear of the tenant entry, cones placed at the work zone perimeter so customers can still reach the door, pure-water tank confirmed, tenant briefed if they are open.
Pure-water-fed pole cleans the entry glass top-down so the water rinses spot-free. Door surround (frame, kick plate, handles) gets soap-and-rinse with a microfibre detail pass.
Threshold slab cleaned with a small surface cleaner or wand at the right PSI for the substrate. Signage (channel letters, monument sign) gets a low-pressure soap-and-rinse. Restaurant thresholds get the degreaser pre-treatment.
Quick walkaround to confirm the glass is streak-free and the slab is dry, cones lifted, equipment shifted to the next tenant. Standard tenant takes 15-25 minutes; strip-mall route hits 8-15 tenants in half a day.
Calgary storefront realities
Calgary storefronts pick up three layers of grime the rest of the city does not deal with the same way. Prairie dust off the foothills lands on every west and south-facing entry year-round, showing up worst on the lower three feet of glass. Road salt and brine spray reach the threshold slab and the lower glass through November and into April every chinook melt. Spring snowmelt drags a dust-and-grit sheet across every entry as the parking lot drains, leaving a brown tideline on the glass and the door frame. Monthly route cards keep the impression consistent. Weekly cards are the right call for downtown Calgary and the higher-traffic restaurant corridors (17th Ave SW, Kensington, Mission, Inglewood, East Village). Quarterly works for neighbourhood plazas with lower foot traffic. Pair storefront cleaning with parking lot cleaning for the lot perimeter, with sidewalk cleaning for the public-side walkway, or with awning cleaning for the fabric overhead.

Calgary storefront cleaning reviews
12-tenant strip mall on a monthly route. Hartford works through the property in three hours, every tenant looks fresh on the first of the month, and the foot traffic numbers backed up the investment. Landlord-funded contract, tenants love it.
Restaurant entry on a weekly card. Grease at the threshold was a constant problem and the previous crew was using the wrong chemistry. Hartford degreaser is food-service safe and the entry stays clean from one visit to the next.
Multi-storey retail tower with offices above the retail. Storefront route handles the ground-floor entries on a monthly card and the upstairs offices on a quarterly card. Single contract, single invoice, clean glass year-round.
Old promotional decals on the entry door from a previous tenant. Hartford removed them at the takeover route visit, polished the ghost outline out over two visits, and we did not lose any tenant traffic during the work.
